Which Andi Lynn's products are safe for kids and infants?
Recommended for children ages 2 and up.
The APP does not recommend that children have honey-based foods until they reach 2 years of age. The glycerin based drops are fine for children to use.
Glycerin-based drops
Recommended for all ages including infants. Our glycerin-based drops include: Shhh…Tummy and Teething Drops, Pure Immune Active Drops, and Inhale Drops.
Bronchia Calm Syrup
Recommended for children ages 6 and up
The AAP does not recommend acting against a cough in children ages 2-6. That said, they recommend Honey in warm water with some lemon and said a spoonful of honey has the same result as OTC Cough Medicine to soothe and suppress a cough. You can always talk to your Dr before starting any new herb based product.
As an herbalist, I recommend a few tricks for little ones with a cough. A steam shower with a drop or two of Pine EO on a sponge on the shower floor will thin mucus and allow for productive coughing. A Nose Freida is an excellent little tool to extract mucus from little baby noses! You can find it here.
A Garlic Plaster or an onion plaster is a traditional herbal remedy for chest congestion. You can learn more about these from John Gallagher of Learning Herbs, and Debi Pearl from No Greater Joy Ministries.
Alcohol Based Drops
We recommend Pillow Drops for adults only, not for kids. Our other alcohol-based drops including: Propolis, Blossom, Melissa, Oregon Grape, and Cramp Bark are formulated safe for kids please see serving suggestions for kids here.
Fire Cider
The Fire Cider is safe for kids. Though they might not enjoy the taste on its own. We recommend mixing it with juice or elderberry syrup when serving to kids.

What is the recommended serving for kids?
For children ages 2 and up we recommend cutting the serving size of our Pure and Seasonal Elderberry Syrup blends by half. That would mean ½-1 tsp a day for regular use and up to 3 tsp a day for intensive use.
Bronchia Calm
For children 6-11 we recommend 1 tsp. As needed.
Glycerin Based Drops
For children under 12 we recommend 10 – 20 drops, 1-3 times a day as needed.
Alcohol Based Drops
There are two rules we generally go by when determining how much of an herbal preparation to serve to our children when it comes to alcohol based drops:
Young’s Rule – Add 12 to the child’s age. Divide the child’s age by this total. Example serving for a 4 year old: Add 12+4 = 16. Divide 16/4 = .25, or 1/4 of the adult serving.
Cowling’s Rule – Divide the number of the child’s next birthday by 24. Example: serving for a child who is 3, turning 4 would be: 4 divided by 24 = .16, or 1/6 of the adult serving.
